Canton Presbyterian's Response
to Flooding from Tropical Storm Fred
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’” – Matthew 22:37-40
The flooding in Canton NC and surrounding communities on Tuesday, August 17, was swift and devastating. There has been loss of life, homes, and property. The Community Kitchen, one of our chief ministry partners, sustained major damage.
Local churches are working to pool our resources and deliver medium- and long-term aid. We are supporting Haywood County, other relief organizations, and our first responders in all they do.
The best way you can support these efforts at this time is through financial contributions. While churches work to establish a central fund, you can donate directly to our church. We will funnel those funds to where there is the most need.
You can donate online here, write a check to Canton Presbyterian Church with "flood relief" in the memo (mail to Canton Presbyterian Church, PO Box 784, Canton NC 28716), or donate through the Vanco Mobile app on your smart phone (search for "Canton Presbyterian Church" and choose "flood relief").
